NSI: The value of prioritizing sustainability

The  Niagara Sustainability Initiative (NSI) has scheduled a May 3 event to explore “the value of prioritizing sustainability.”

“As an organization or business grows, sustainability initiatives may be sidelined by competing challenges, time constraints, or other factors,” NSI executive director Tikvah Mindorff wrote. “This event should serve to find common best practices to face these challenges, and provide strategies to prioritize sustainability within your organization. Our guest speakers will provide examples of their efforts to prioritize sustainability, and highlight the environmental and economic value of these efforts.”

“Building on our “Green Decision Making” event last season, this event aims to go “beyond engagement” and delve into the process of “moving projects forward”, with support from above, through the development and implementation of policy and action plans.”

Speakers include Melissa Jacobs, sustainability manager at Bentall Kennedy, one of North America’s largest real estate investment advisors and Canada’s largest property manager, and Steve Stone, director of facility management at Niagara Casinos.

Peter Gray of Hamilton Air Solutions Ltd. will act as the emcee.

Admission is free to members and is $40.00 for non-members.
