The Niagara Home Builders’ Association (NHBA) has announced the winners of the 2016 scholarship program.
The program was established in recognition of the importance of education and to encourage careers in the construction industry. Scholarships are awarded to sons, daughters or legal wards of owners, partners and employees of Niagara Home Builder’s Association members.
Hailey DeMelo, sponsored by Mountainview Homes. Hailey graduated Denis Morris High School with
Academic Achievement status; a leader in the classroom and school community; active in school sports; in the community she is a volunteer with diverse local organizations. Hailey will be attending Brock University in the sociology program.
Emily Lucchetta, sponsored by Lucchetta Homes. Emily graduated Notre Dame College School with Honours status; commended for her goal to create a healthier future and making a difference in the lives of others; dedicated to community service, she volunteers with organizations assisting the vulnerable. Emily will be attending Wilfred Laurier University in the biochemistry and biotechnology program.
Brayden Lucchetta, sponsored by Lucchetta Homes. Brayden graduated Cardinal Newman Secondary School with honour roll status; actively participated as a junior Member of Parliament; held an internship to pursue interest in finance and business enterprise; determination and training led to a four year position on a competitive soccer team; assists the coach and coordinates sports agility training for players of a local soccer team. Brayden will be attending Queen’s University in the Smith School of Business program.
