{"id":539,"date":"2014-10-30T01:17:23","date_gmt":"2014-10-30T01:17:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/niagaraconstructionnews.com\/?p=539"},"modified":"2014-10-30T01:17:23","modified_gmt":"2014-10-30T01:17:23","slug":"kone-introduces-jumplift-construction-elevator-in-toronto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/niagaraconstructionnews.com\/?p=539","title":{"rendered":"Kone introduces JumpLift construction elevator in Toronto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KONE Inc, which describes itself as a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, today announced the first North American installation of KONE JumpLift technology in <span class=\"xn-person\">One Bloor<\/span>, Great Gulf&#8217;s flagship high-rise condominium under construction in <span class=\"xn-location\">Toronto<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>KONE JumpLift, which has already been installed in <span class=\"xn-location\">Europe<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">Asia<\/span>, the <span class=\"xn-location\">Middle East<\/span>, <span class=\"xn-location\">China<\/span> and <span class=\"xn-location\">Australia<\/span>, is an advanced, self-climbing elevator that operates during construction in a building&#8217;s permanent hoistway.\u00a0 KONE JumpLift uses a mobile machine room that moves upward as the construction progresses. The technology will enable faster and safer construction at Great Gulf&#8217;s flagship condominium project in Toronto.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;KONE technology and innovative design techniques are changing the way buildings are built across the globe,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Larry Wash<\/span>, CEO of KONE Americas. &#8220;This collaboration with Great Gulf is helping us meet demand in the resurgence of high-rise construction in<span class=\"xn-location\">Toronto<\/span>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A news release says the KONE JumpLift technology includes the following benefits:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li><b>Less Wait Time<\/b>: Operating at speeds up to 800 fpm (4m\/s), five times faster than a traditional external hoist used in construction, KONE JumpLift is able to move construction workers to their floors in a faster, safer way.<\/li>\n<li><b>Safer Transportation<\/b>: With all transportation activities taking place inside in a dry and windproof shaft, construction workers can safely move throughout the building regardless of weather conditions, allowing building construction to proceed unhindered.<\/li>\n<li><b>Construction Efficiency<\/b>: Using the building&#8217;s permanent elevator hoistway for construction use, completed floors can be put into action while allowing the installation to continue above.<\/li>\n<li><b>Faster Delivery<\/b>: When the building structure is completed, changing over to the permanent elevator is a straightforward matter of installing the final machinery and finishing the material surfaces of the elevator car, landing doors and signalization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Great Gulf always looks for innovation in design and construction. <span class=\"xn-person\">One Bloor<\/span>, recently recognized by the International Property Awards as the best hi-rise condominium in <span class=\"xn-location\">North America<\/span>, is one of the most significant buildings being built in <span class=\"xn-location\">Toronto<\/span>,&#8221; said <span class=\"xn-person\">Christopher Wein<\/span>, President Great Gulf Residential. &#8220;The KONE JumpLift provides real value and this elevator technology will help the entire construction project to proceed more efficiently and safely for everyone working on site.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KONE Inc, which describes itself as a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, today announced the first North American installation of KONE JumpLift technology in One Bloor, Great Gulf&#8217;s flagship high-rise condominium under construction in Toronto.
