The Niagara Home Builders Association (NHBA) has announced the winners for the 2013 Awards of Excellence.
Mountainview Homes captured the Builder of the Year award. “Offering an opportunity of homeownership to much of Niagara’s demographics, quality and craftsmanship, myHome Tracker online accessibility and customer experience makes Mountainview Niagara’s largest builder,” the NHBA said in its announcement. “Mountainview Homes holds continuous safety orientations for all people on site, including visitors. Employees support the industry serving on industry related Boards and Committees locally, regionally and provincially.
“In 2013 Mountainview Homes was no stranger to the community; involved in Niagara College – Building Futures Campaign, Operation Yellow Ribbon – an organization supporting families of soldiers overseas, sponsoring minor hockey and soccer teams and supporting a number of charity groups,” the association news release said
Silvergate Homes received the Excellence in Green Construction or Renovation award for advancing green building awareness. “Silvergate’s new 2013 building program will deliver Niagara’s first and only Energy Star and Green House certified community at Village on the Twelve,” the NHBA announcement said. “In-house training to develop knowledge and understanding of the techniques is provided to staff, trades, suppliers and sales teams. Leading edge waste management strategies are in place to meet one of the green house certified builder requirements of a minimum 25 per cent waste from sites must be diverted from landfill.”
