The Niagara Construction Association has announced that it has begun the conversion, along with 11 other local construction associations, to a new Electronic Plans Room (EPR) software platform under the BestBidz consortium.

“The new BestBidz portal will have a completely new user interface and will include many advanced features and tools not found in our current EPR environment,” the NCA announcement says.

“This portal will offer the most advanced procurement environment in the industry with benefits for owners, architects, GCs, sub-trades and suppliers. BestBidz is ‘leap frogging’ the existing market by introducing advanced features such as ePrequalification, eTendering, eBidding, eBonding, and public and private plans rooms, all included in a ‘one-stop-shop; environment. The procurement module for public and private owners will give them the ability to conduct construction and general goods and services procurement using the same application, while targeting appropriate contractor and supplier groups.”

The NCA will move to this new platform on June 2, 2014.

“The BestBidz portal will provide an integrated environment for the entire Ontario construction industry. Upon completion of the migration, BestBidz and the Ontario construction industry will strengthen the existing national network of local construction associations utilizing the same software platform and providing access to the largest number of construction bid opportunities and suppliers of construction materials and services in the country,” the NCA says.

Complimentary member training will be held at the NCA office on May 29, 2014 to prepare our members for the conversion. “We’ll be with you every step of the way,” the association says.

Training slots have been scheduled for: 8:30 to 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to noon, 12:30 to 2 p.m., and 2:30 to 4 pm.
